She described the new genetic therapeutic approaches to the treatment of peripheral neuropathies, hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis and limb-girdle muscular dystrophy. She concluded by highlighting that gene therapies are likely irreversible, potentially providing sustained benefits but also carrying a possible risk of long-term adverse effects. -

March 1, 2019MDS-ES 8th Winter School for Young Neurologists at King’s College in London Almost 50 young neurologists and neurology residents from all over the world gathered in London from 7-9 February for the 8th Movement Disorder Society (MDS) Winter School for young neurologists. This well-attended and lively event featured two-and-half days of presentations, focused clinical examination rounds, video sessions and debate, driven by plenary sessions and two parallel workshops. -

The MDS-ES 2nd Summer School on Neuromodulation for Movement Disorders took place in Würzburg, Germany on September 6-8, 2018. The workshop was excellently directed by Professors Elena Moro and Jens Volkmann, with the collaboration of faculties of different countries, particularly from the Würzburg University. The course was held in a lovely and quiet building, the Burkardushaus Würzburg, in the heart of the city.
