The EAN, as leading European society in the field of neurology, is very interested in the WBP. Could you summarize the project to the readers of EANpages?
The Women’s Brain Project (WBP) is an interdisciplinary, global non-profit organization founded in 2016 in Switzerland. Composed of academic and social scientists, medical doctors, engineers, patients, caregivers, artists and AI experts, WBP works to identify specific needs related to women’s brain and mental health, advocate for change, and position the findings for the benefit of society.

Since then, the Alliance has grown to represent 25 migraine, cluster and other headache disorder patient groups from across the continent. EHA was created to speak on behalf of and to advocate for the rights and needs of the 80 million people in Europe living with a headache disorder.

BMJ 2017 Jan 10;356:i6635. doi: 10.1136/bmj.i6635. A higher risk of ischemic stroke has been found in patients with migraine, especially in those with migraine with aura. -

Migraine has been linked to an increased risk for vascular diseases by sharing the same ethiopathogenesis, related to alterations mediated by the endothelium. -
