Dear Colleagues,
Pain medicine has developed into an important field. Many difficult to treat chronic pain syndromes require novel therapeutic regimens. Upregulation of neuron-derived mediators is a major finding in chronic pain.
This meeting is organized in close collaboration with the Department of Rheumatology of the University Hospital of Lausanne. The objective is to introduce and discuss the principle of neurogenic inflammation as a promising and innovative target field in pain medicine. The presented up-to-date data will provide an in-depth overview of neurotrophins and neuron-derived molecules in chronic pain syndromes such as osteoarthritis, migraine or low back pain. We provide a comprehensive review of antibodies against nerve growth factor, calcitonin gene-related peptide and other antagonists. The meeting with an interdisciplinary faculty will be of interest for specialities such as rheumatology, orthopaedics, neurology, pain medicine and neuroscience.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Lausanne!
