The Scientific Committee is fully committed to a great mission: To increase and share the best clinical knowledge and the cutting-edge information from translational research in all neurological fields. Main actions are i) to facilitate exchanges and synergies with the Scientific Panels ii) to support the Guideline Production Group (update and diffusion of expertise and best clinical practice), iii) to interact positively with other scientific societies with reciprocal exchanges and liaise with the European Affairs sub-Committee to increase the awareness of Neurology in Europe.

August 1, 2019Our cities are well known for the arts, their history , design and fashion, quality of life, and food. The Mediterranean diet was postulated to be protective against neurodegenerative diseases by Ancel Benjamin Keys (1904 - 2004), a famous American physiologist who decided to live in the Cilento, a beautiful Southern Italian area, and follow the diet himself. Finally, Italian cities are renowned for the human relationships of their inhabitants. -
This year’s Networking event during the 5th EAN congress took place at the Oslo City Hall on Monday evening (July 1), where the attendees were impressed by the striking functional architecture and scale of the main hall.

On 31 January 2019 , the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) adopted a positive opinion, recommending the granting of a marketing authorisation for the medicinal product Ajovy©, intended for prophylaxis of migraine. The applicant for this medicinal product is Teva GmbH. The active substance is fremanezumab which is an antibody that works by binding to calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). It is classified as an analgesic.
