The European Academy of Neurology (EAN) is a young society ready for the future, according to its president Prof. Paul Boon, who delivered his welcome address in the Opening Session on the first day of EAN 2023

The popular Basal Ganglia Club reconvened again at EAN 2023 in Budapest, featuring both the MDS-ES C. David Marsden Award Lecture and the Dystonia Europe David Marsden Award Lecture.

Major advancements in new technologies were discussed in this joint session between the EAN and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society - European Section.

Symposium 4 at EAN 2023, titled ‘Emerging and re-emerging neuro-infections – old and new ‘friends’, even for the neurologist’ was dedicated to drawing attention to old and new increasing issues related to neuro-infections.

Symposium 3 at EAN 2023, on the glymphatic system, sleep and neurodegeneration, opened exciting new possibilities for future treatments, linking sleep quality and brain clearance to potentially modify a range of neurological diseases.
