Happiness was at the centre of the Opening Session of EAN 2024, the 10th congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) currently taking place in Helsinki, Finland, as positive news and inspiring guests took the stage on the first day of the meeting.

A quartet of esteemed Named Lecturers delved into some fascinating areas of neurology with powerful metaphors linking neuroscience to history and the celestial vault during the Presidential Symposium on the second day of EAN 2024.

The EAN 2024 Opening Session delivered a multisensory treat for onsite participants on Saturday night, with the whole show streamed live on the EAN Congress website.

This EAN TV session organised by the European Brain Council examined the action currently being taken by all relevant stakeholders in promoting brain health in Europe through a European Brain Health plan.

Symposium 2 at EAN 2024 took place in a packed room on the morning of the first day of the congress, showing the growing and active interest in the field of movement disorders and particularly Parkinson’s disease.

The popular Basal Ganglia Club reconvened again at EAN 2024 in Helsinki, featuring the Dystonia Europe David Marsden Award Lecture, the European Alliance for Restless Legs Syndrome Award lecture, and a selection of rare and challenging case presentations.

This scientific symposium, organised in cooperation with the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) and the European Paediatric Neurology Society addressed the clinical and neuroimaging features of paediatric and late-onset multiple sclerosis and therapeutic strategies.

The first symposium of EAN 2024, chaired by Prof. Marte Bjork, took place in the main auditorium on Saturday, 29 June, focusing on the effects of antiseizure medications on individuals of reproductive age.
