It is a great pleasure to introduce the recipients of the Fellowship 2014 (in alphabetical order):

As Julia Scheidl, EFNS Staff member for almost 5 years is on maternity leave, the EFNS has hired Marion Russ and Claudia Schalk to help us execute our ever-growing daily tasks at the Headoffice.

Through the EFNS fellowship, I was able to carry out my project “Cerebral ischaemia measured using MRI spectroscopy (cerebral ischaemia study)” at the Acute Stroke research unit, Western Infirmary, Glasgow, UK chaired by Prof. Kennedy Lees. Doing this research from an interdisciplinary perspective has been a novel approach and I’m grateful I was able to begin my involvement with EFNS Scientific Fellowship at this stage in my career.

For a period of 6 months, supported by the EFNS educational fellowship, I spent an amazing and enriching period of my life at the Child Neurology Department, Hospital San Joan De Deu, Barcelona, Spain, with Dr. A. Garcia Cazorla’s research team.

We are happy to inform that a list of the Symposia, Teaching Courses, Focused Workshops, Interactive Sessions, Hands-on Courses and Special Sessions that are scheduled for the 1st EAN Congress in Berlin, Germany - 20-23 June 2015 - is online now.

During the Joint Congress of European Neurology in Istanbul 2014 you will have a splendid programme to fill your heads with the latest in neurological science and clinical practice, but it is also very important to find the time to exchange ideas and set the basis for future co-operations, working groups or simply free your mind for the next day and next session.

In 2014, up to 5 scientific and up to 3 educational fellowships will be offered to support young European neurologists to carry out research projects in clinical and basic neurology. The objective is to support young and active neurologists wishing to expand their knowledge in neurology by working on scientific projects, and most of all, to study the practice of neurology in different countries, and thereby also creating new and international connections.

I have had the great honor of being one of the neurologists selected by the EFNS Training and Education Committee for the 2012 Scientific Fellowship. I have spent a year in the Neurology Department of the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, Germany.
