Call for applications for the
Chief Editor of Neuropenews, the newsblog of the EAN
and the
Chief Editor of the website of the European Academy of Neurology
The European Academy of Neurology has two major publication organs besides the scientific flagship, the European Journal of Neurology. These are the web-based newsletter Neuropenews and the website of the Society.
Neuropenews is reporting daily news in the field of neurology and providing informed opinions on different scientific and healthcare related topics in neurology. It is designed and has been excellently built up by Gian Luigi Lenzi as the chief editor and David Vodušek, Christian Krarup and José Ferro as co-editors and by Anja Sander at the Head Office.
The website of the Society is a source of information about the society and a tool for education and training and currently handled by the EAN Head Office.
The Neuropenews Editors want to hand this exciting job over to the younger generation as they have now other commitments within the society. We thank them for their extraordinary engagement which has led to the outstanding progress and the broad interest which both of these organs have attracted.
The Board of the EAN continues to consider these to be very important publication organs and has decided to further develop them. The future organisation will have two chief editors one for Neuropenews and another for the website.
Both will also have assistance by an editorial team.
Given the nature of both these publication organs being based on new techniques the Board is looking for two highly active chief editors who are familiar with the entire new internet-based techniques.
We would like to see academically active European neurologists applying for these positions. It is envisaged to recruit an editorial board covering the whole spectrum of neurology and certainly administrative support by Anja Sander at the Head Office of the EAN.
The selection for both positions will be made by the President and the Board.
Criteria are: Qualification for the particular position, excellence in the field, gender, nationality, and specialty.
Please submit a letter explaining your interest (ideally including suggestions/ideas for the future structure and content), your CV and a short list of publications.
Please send your applications by September 15, 2014 to headoffice@eaneurology.org.
