No doubt, the evidence is piling up: misfolded protein pathologies can spread throughout the nervous system in a prion-like fashion. Diseases and proteins concerned include Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal lobe dementia (Tau), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (SOD1) and Parkinson’s disease (α-synuclein).
