The EAN Resident and Research Fellow Section (RRFS) is excited to announce the second edition of the NeuroART Competition! This initiative builds upon the success of its inaugural edition, which culminated in a vibrant exhibition of artistic talent and an award ceremony at last year’s EAN Congress 2025 in Helsinki. By blending art and neurology, the competition invites participants to explore and express their understanding of neuroscience creatively through diverse artistic media.
The RRFS invites its members to participate in the NeuroART Competition, which features three exciting categories:
- Photography and Painting
- Music, Dance, and Video
- Poetry and Short Essays
This initiative aims to foster engagement, collaboration, and creativity within the RRFS community to enhance the wellbeing of its members and to promote the public’s understanding of neurology and neuroscientific research through art.
Highlights 2024
The first edition of the competition received an impressive array of submissions, showcasing the artistic ingenuity of EAN members. The winning entries were celebrated during the EAN Congress 2024 in Helsinki.
2025 Upgrades
This year the awardees will have the opportunity to present their works in the Scientific Theatre, highlighting the significance of well-being in neurology while providing visibility to the Neurologist Wellbeing Task Force.
Significance of the Competition
The NeuroART Competition offers a unique platform for neurologists, neuroscientists, and residents to connect with their field in a deeply creative and reflective way. By blending the realms of art and science, the competition fosters a holistic appreciation of neurology, underscores the importance of mental well-being, and enhances public understanding of neurological research.
This initiative serves not only as a creative outlet but also as a medium to communicate complex neurological concepts in a more accessible, engaging, and visually compelling manner. By doing so, it bridges the gap between scientific inquiry and artistic expression, encouraging participants to explore innovative ways of presenting neuroscience.
