At the recent EAN Congress 2024 in Helsinki, the first Meeting of the Guideline Taskforce (GLTF) Chairs took place, which was well-attended by the Chairs of the various EAN GLTFs as well as the members of the Guideline Production Group (GPG).
New GPG Co-Chair, Kristian Steen Frederiksen, and past GPG Co-Chair, Maurizio Leone, provided some updates and information on the EAN guideline production rules, procedures, and available resources to support the development of EAN guidelines.
The meeting is intended not only to be a one-way presentation but also to act as an interactive forum for the participants. The GLTF Chairs were given the opportunity to ask questions, bring up some of their concerns that could be addressed by the GPG directly, and provide feedback. GLTF Chairs also shared with each other some of the hurdles and challenges they have faced and solutions they have found, which allowed for a productive exchange of experiences and best practices.
With the implementation of structured methodological support, a more solid rapport through consistent communication and additional meetings with the GPG, and centralised processing through the EAN Head Office, the GPG continues to strive to aid the EAN GLTFs to the best of its abilities.
