On 15 May, 2021, the Virtual EAN-Day in Armenia took place, with more than 150 local medical professionals participating in the online event, including neurologists, residents, family doctors, rehabilitation specialists.
The event was organised with the help and support of the EAN, the Armenian Neurologists Association and the ICPD educational platform, with the main purpose of updating knowledge in selected current neurological topics.
Several prominent and well-known European Neurologists were invited to be the faculty. Professor Jean-Michel Vallat (France) gave two very informative talks on Dysimmune Neuropathies updates and Atypical forms of Guillain-Barre Syndrome; Professor Carlo Colosimo (Italy) gave a very interesting talk on Atypical Parkinsonism; his colleague Prof. Matteo Bologna (Italy) gave a talk on Tremor: types and treatment; and there was a very important talk, given by Professor Claudio Bassetti (Switzerland), the EAN President, on Sleep and Stroke.
The Resident and Research Fellow Section was represented by Dr. Vanessa Carvalho with a topic of specific interest to young neurologists: Tips on how to start your career as a junior neurologist in Europe.
All the presentations were received with great interest by the Armenian neurologists and other specialists and many questions were posed and answered.
The general opinion was that the Virtual EAN Day in Armenia was a very interesting and useful event for local medical professionals and online teaching courses are a good tool to improve and update medical knowledge in the modern world.
