Vanessa Carvalho, RRFS Secretary General
On 25th May 2020, the first virtual general assembly of the Resident and Research Fellow Section (RRFS) of the EAN took place. The assembly received broad participation from RRFS members who were interested in gaining insight into the annual report as well as the new Treasurer elections.
The Secretary, Dr. Vanessa Carvalho, provided an outlook on the changes that occurred during 2019, including new membership criteria, a new voting system and participation of RRFS members in the management groups of the Scientific Panels. Finally, she announced the position of the newly created RRFS Liaison Officer, a position currently held by Dr. Anna Sauerbier.
The Chair, Dr. Giovanni Di Liberto, provided an overview of current surveys that were developed in the past year by RRFS members, including three currently ongoing surveys on sleep education, burnout amongst neurology residents and research fellows, and dementia and pain education.
The Treasurer, Dr. Luca Cuffaro, illustrated the financial status of the RRFS describing the annual expenses and budget plan. Dr. Nina Vashchenko was announced as the new RRFS Treasurer.
Finally, the RRFS Office thanked Dr. Lisa Klingelhöfer, who will step down as Past-Chair, for her all her work as an office member during the past 4 years.
The next General Assembly will take place in Vienna, during the next EAN Congress in 2021.
