EAN-RRFS Geneal Assembly Report
By Giovanni Di Liberto
Oslo hosted the general assembly of the resident and research fellow section (RRFS) of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) during the 5th annual congress. The assembly received a broad participation from RRFS members who were interested in gaining insight into the annual report as well as the new Treasurer elections.
The Chair, Dr. Lisa Klingelhoefer, provided an outlook of the current RRFS organization, illustrating the major milestones achieved during this year such as establishing the national representative network initiative.
The Secretary, Dr. Giovanni Di Liberto described the remarkable growth in memberships. With more than 1000 members, RRFS memberships registered a five-fold increase as compared with last year. This exponential growth was likely due to the novel opportunities provided by the EAN and the rising popularity of this scientific community.
The Treasurer, Dr. Vanessa Carvalho, illustrated the financial status of the RRFS describing the annual expenses and budget plan.
For the elections, 4 candidates introduced themselves and their vision for this 4 year-committment within the RRFS office. The geneal assembly with its 69 voters elected Dr. Luca Cuffaro as new treasurer.
The next General Assembly will take place in Paris which will host the annual EAN congress in 2020.
