The second joint-workshop of the European Academy of Neurology – Resident and Research Fellow Section (EAN-RRFS) national representatives network was held in collaboration with the Italian association of young neurologists on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2019 in Rome, Italy. In total participants from 13 different countries attended the meeting including Austria, Belarus, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Moldova, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom. During this productive meeting one of the main outcomes was the development of strategies how to improve the work of RRFS within the EAN and the national representatives’ network. One way to widen the national representative network and ensure that all European countries are represented, will be to contact neighbouring countries of those who do not yet have a nominated national representative. Furthermore, RRFS national representatives will give several topic presentations at the scientific theatre during the forthcoming EAN congress in Oslo 2019 including “Residency Program in Europe – a National Representatives Survey”, by Dr. Nina Kleineberg and Dr. Matthijs Van Der Meulen, “The National Representatives Network”, by Dr. Anna Sauerbier, “Neurology training in the UK”, by Dr. Sam Shribman, “How young neurologists in Switzerland can shape their own future”, by Dr. David Schreier, “Italian Young Neurologists: activities and projects looking to the future, in Italy and in Europe”, by Dr. Francesco Di Lorenzo and “Endovascular therapy for acute ischemic stroke: which role for neurologists?” by Dr. Francesco Di Lorenzo and Dr. David Schreier. RRFS member are cordially invited to join these presentations during the forthcoming congress and get involved and sharing their own experiences and opinions.
