In view of the ongoing political discussions around the European Commission’s proposal for funding of research and innovation through the Horizon Europe program from 2021 to 2027, it is a
good moment for researchers to voice their concerns , hopes and wishes for the future of Europe. Prof. Axel Pries met with Mr. Christian Ehler, MEP for Germany and rapporteur for the EP for the Horizon Europe Framework.
MEP Dan Nica (RO) will be steering the discussion on Horizon Europe together with Mr Ehler..
The EC published its budget proposal for Horizon Europe that now has to be approved by both EP and Council.
It is an excellent opportunity for EU- funded researchers to better communicate the value of European research and innovation, promote their groundbreaking research and its direct impact on EU citizens’ health and wealth.
