Research Training Fellowship:
Michelangelo Cao from Italy was selected for his project: “Testing a new therapeutic strategy in MUSK myasthenia gravis: the in vivo effects of SHP2 inhibiton” which he will carry out at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences in Oxford, UK under the supervision of Prof David Beeson
Hatice Kurucu from Turkey was selected for her project: “Investigating degeneration of inhibitory circuits in Alzheimer’s disease brain” which she will carry out at the University of Edinburgh, Center for discovery Brain Science in Edinburgh, UK under the supervision of Prof Tara Spires-Jones
Giacomo Tondo from Italy was selected for his project: “Traking myelin changes in vivo with 18F-florbetapir PET and MRI in patients with Multople Sclerosis” which he will carry out at the Neurodegeneration Imaging Group (NIG), Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience King’s College in London, UK under the supervision of Prof Marios Politis
Marta Villa Lopez from Spain was selected for her project: “Treatment of Stroke patients with Dementia: A multicohort study based on the Swedish Dementia Registry (SveDem) and Swedish Stroke Registry (RiksStroke)” which she will carry out at the Karolinska Institutet in Hudding, Sweden under the supervision of Dr Sara Garcia-Ptacek
Giorgio Vivacqua from Italy was selected for his project: “Detecting of alpha-synuclein aggregates in saliva using protein misfoldingcyclic amplification (PMCA): biomarkers for diagnosis and follow-up of PD” which he will carry out at the University of Cambridge, Department of clinical neuroscience in Cambridge, UK under the supervision of Prof Maria Spillantini
Research Experience Fellowship:
Pedro Alves from Portugal was selected for his project: “Spatial and mental topographical orientation after stroke” which he will carry out at the Brain connectivity and behaviour group, Insitute the cerveau et de la Moelle epiniere, Hospital La Salpetriere in Paris, France under the supervision of Prof Michel Thiebaut de Schotten
Amaia Muñoz Lopetegi from Spain was selected for her project: “AE-PAC3 – Autoimmune epilepsy – Prognosis using antibodies, cytokines and clinical characteristics” which she will carry out at the Erasmus University medical Center in Rotterdam, The Netherlands under the supervision of Prof Maarten Titulaer
