Since August 2016 the European Academy of Neurology is a member of the Guidelines International Network (G-I-N). The G-I-N is an international non-profit-distributing association of organizations and individuals involved in the development and use of clinical practice guidelines. The membership section can be accessed in the G-I-N website (http://www.g-i-n.net/membership), where information about all members and organizations having active partnerships and collaborations with G-I-N can be found. Since 2002, when it was founded, the G-I-N has grown to comprise 97 organizations and 128 individual members, representing 32 countries from all continents. The network supports evidence-based health care and improved health outcomes by reducing inappropriate variation throughout the world. The G-I-N seeks to improve the quality of health care by promoting systematic development of clinical practice guidelines and their application into practice, through supporting international collaboration.
The G-I-N has developed a network and partnerships for guideline organizations, implementers, end-users, researchers, students, and other stakeholders. The G-I-N aims at assisting members in reducing duplication of efforts, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of evidence-based guideline development, adaptation, dissemination and implementation. Finally, the G-I-N promotes best practice through the development of opportunities for learning and building capacity. The G-I-N organizes every year a meeting, proving members with an excellent opportunity for networking, learning, and sharing information.
