ESO-EAST (“Enhancing and Accelerating Stroke Treatment”) project aims to establish a 5-year collaboration with selected physicians from Eastern countries to optimise stroke care in Eastern Europe. A first workshop was held in Glasgow during the European Stroke Conference 2015. The next ESO EAST Workshop will be held on Monday, 9th May 2016, from 08:30 – 17:30, on the day before the ESO Conference. The ESO’s major objective is to improve and optimise the management of stroke in Europe, including the provision of medical education to healthcare professionals and the lay public in Europe, and offering best practice approaches.

Symposium Societal Impact of Pain 2016 – Time for Action @ European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium, May 23-24, 2016 The 6th event on the Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) will take place in the European Parliament in Brussels / Beglium and addresses anyone involved in pain policy e.g. health care professionals, politicians, representatives of pain advocacy groups, insurances, health authorities, regulators and budget holders. The following topics will be addressed:
- Pain as a quality indicator for health care
- Chronic Pain: a disease or multi-morbidity?
- The relevance of pain in cancer care and rehabilitation
- Pain, rehabilitation and reintegration of workers in the working force
