Researchers working with gene-editing techniques (CRISPR) have managed to ensure that an engineered mosquito would pass on its new Plasmodium falciparum resistance genes to nearly all of its offspring— and note, not just half, as would normally be!
In their article, published on 23 November in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers explains how they have achieved these incredible results, which could save thousands of lives.
