Join us for an engaging workshop where you will step into the role of a Task Force member tasked with developing an EAN clinical guideline for the use of selective anti-Aβ monoclonal antibodies in treating Alzheimer’s disease.
The EAN Guideline Production Group is extending an invitation to members of the EAN Scientific Panel, individual members, and those in the Guideline Task Force to participate in the EAN Guideline Workshop on Friday, 20 June 2025, from 12:00 to 18:00 EEST, held in person in Helsinki. Clinical practice guidelines play a vital role for the neurological community, and developing these guidelines is one of the EAN’s key responsibilities.
Throughout this workshop, you will actively participate in forming the Task Force, defining key questions (PICOs) to be addressed, critically appraising and contextualising existing evidence, and ultimately making recommendations regarding the use of these monoclonal antibodies.
Led by experienced developers of EAN guidelines, this workshop will take participants through the entire guideline development process, using one of the EAN’s high-quality guidelines as a reference. The goal of the event is not only to impart skills and knowledge but also to tackle the challenges and obstacles encountered in guideline creation.
The format includes concise theoretical lectures on relevant topics, followed by collaborative small group work and discussions. Each group will present their findings, leading to an enriching general discussion. By the end of this workshop, you will have gained familiarity with the essential tasks involved in guideline production and developed valuable skills to carry out these tasks. The workshop is designed for participants at an introductory to medium level.
This workshop provides a thorough yet concise overview of the guideline development process, focusing on the following topics:
• Taskforce Composition
• Construction of PICOs
• Construction of evidence profiles
• Evidence to Decision Process
• Development of the Recommendation
