The European Board of Neurology (EBN) recently conducted another successful examination, with 159 candidates participating from various countries across the globe. This year’s examinees demonstrated exceptional knowledge and expertise, reaffirming the EBN exam as a benchmark of high competence in the field of neurology.
To recognise and encourage excellence, the EBN has introduced a special award for the top-performing candidates. Starting with the 2024 exam, the ten best candidates will receive a full registration fee waiver for the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) congress held in the year following their exam. This initiative aims to further motivate neurology professionals to take the EBN exam and work towards becoming Fellows of the European Board of Neurology.
This year, due to a tie in the final rankings, a total of eleven candidates were awarded the prestigious registration fee waiver. The recipients of the 2024 award are:
- Louise De Temmerman (Belgium)
- Sofie Antonis (Belgium)
- Neil Watson (United Kingdom)
- Claudia Gendarini (Italy)
- Jens Devogelaere (Belgium)
- Olivia Pype (Belgium)
- Andrea Mastrangelo (Italy)
- Amedeo De Grado (Italy)
- Andrea Gozzi (Italy)
- Maxime Vande Vyver (Belgium)
- Arnout Bruggeman (Belgium)
The outstanding performance of these candidates highlights the rigorous standards of the EBN examination and the dedication of neurology professionals across Europe and beyond.
By offering this award, both the EBN and the EAN seek to inspire more professionals in the field of neurology to take the exam, achieve certification, and continue advancing their expertise. The opportunity to attend the EAN Congress provides an invaluable chance for awardees to expand their knowledge, engage with peers, and contribute to the ongoing development of neurology.
With each successful exam, the EBN strengthens its role as a leader in neurology certification, ensuring that high standards of medical practice are upheld, and that the next generation of neurologists is well-equipped to meet the challenges of the field.
Neurology professionals interested in joining this distinguished group can apply for the 2025 EBN Exam, which will be conducted online, until 1 March.
The exam will consist of two parts, taking place on the following dates:
Oral Exam: 9 & 10 May
Written Exam: 16 May
