The EAN Board and Scientific Committee are pleased to announce the creation of the Task Force on Environmental Influences in Neurology which is a ground-breaking initiative within the European Academy of Neurology, dedicated to addressing the intersection of neurology and the environment by exploring its environmental (particularly climate change) and socio-economic dimensions and its impact on neurological diseases. As global environmental challenges intensify, the EAN recognises the critical importance of neurologists’ involvement in this regard. This Task Force is committed to fostering awareness, innovation, research, and education in the field.
During the EAN Congress 2024 in Helsinki, the Task Force held a kick-off meeting with its first few members, and it is now seeking dedicated neurologists or residents to join us in this innovative endeavour. Experience in research related to climate change and environmental sciences will be appreciated.
Our mission is to improve our understanding and develop strategies in order to reduce the impact of environmental factors on neurological health. If you are interested in interdisciplinary research and eager to make a significant impact, we invite you to become a vital part of our Task Force.
From the beginning of August 2024 onwards EAN Individual Members can apply for this new Task Force by sending a short CV and a motivation letter (~ 250 words) to scientific@ean.org by Monday, 16 September 2024. Applications will be evaluated by the Task Force based on applicants’ qualifications, motivation and relevant experience.
