The MDS-ES/EAN Scientific Panel on Movement Disorders Management Group invites you to join us for the excellent movement disorders programme at the upcoming EAN Congress. The programme has been prepared in collaboration between the EAN and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society – European Section (MDS-ES).
The annual MDS-ES European Basal Ganglia Club Special Session is scheduled for Saturday afternoon (15:30-17:15). This session features Vladimir Kostić (Belgrade, Serbia) delivering the C. David Marsden Award lecture, titled Motility and Cognition. This special session also features video case presentations from junior colleagues and award lectures from Dystonia Europe and the European Alliance for Restless Legs Syndrome (EARLS).
The Saturday programme also includes the timely Symposium, Towards a Biological Classification of Parkinson’s Disease(10:30 – 12:30), Focused Workshop,Tremor Syndromes: From pathophysiology to diagnosis and treatment(8:30 – 10:00), and Level 1 Teaching Course, Update on Movement Disorders (15:30-18:45) which covers parkinsonism, dystonia, chorea and myoclonus, and ataxia and spasticity.
The movement disorders programme continues Sunday with a debate on biomarkers vs clinical diagnosis in the Controversy Session, Controversies in Parkinson’s Disease Diagnosis(9:30 – 10:15).
Monday’s programme includes three movement disorder sessions: the Focused Workshop, Movement Disorders in Autoimmune Encephalopathies(08:30 – 10:00), the Level 3 Hands-on Course, Deep Brain Stimulation for Movement Disorders: From Basic Principles to Advanced Practice Programming(15:30 – 17:00), and the Interactive Session, Recognising Functional Movement Disorders in the Context of Organic Diseases(17:30 – 19:00).
In addition to the movement disorders sessions, there are several opportunities to view the oral presentations, ePosters and ePresentations on movement disorders. Times for all sessions are available on the congress website.
