The European Academy of Neurology is inviting all our Individual Members to take part in an essay contest to celebrate 10 years of EAN!
Submit an essay on one of the two subjects below and you will have a chance to win a travel grant to the Congress, present your paper at the Scientific Theatre (on-site) and receive a certificate.
1. What was it like to be a neurologist 100 years ago?
2. What it will be like to practice neurology in 100 years?
INSTRUCTIONS
The essay must be anonymous and written in English, not including headings, acknowledgements, names or institutions, that may even partially indicate who the author is.
It should be no longer than 1000 words and it must be submitted via online form. Please do not include your name in the main text to ensure anonymity during the judging process. Bibliographies should not be included.
The following questions can be used as an inspiration, but do not necessarily need to be considered or answered:
1) Was it possible to be a neurologist in your country 100 years ago, given the education state/gender imbalances/access to education/etc.?
2) What are the biggest goals for neurologists in the future? How (in your opinion) will AI and further automatisation influence the profession and treatment?
This contest is open to all EAN Individual Members: Student, Resident and Research, Full, Corresponding and Fellow of EAN.
If you have any questions, please contact membership@ean.org.
Deadline for submission: 31 March 2024 23:55 (CEST)

Thank you for participating and good luck! We are looking forward to meeting you in Helsinki!
IMPORTANT! If we detect a high probability that Chat GPT or a similar AI programme has been used to create your text, it will be automatically excluded from the review.
