“As a mentor, I take pleasure in passing on not just knowledge but also the emotions, aspirations, and insights pertaining to neuroscience, much like my own mentors did for me.”
– Michelangelo Mancuso
As is the essence of mentorship, our goal is to empower early-career neurologists by connecting them with seasoned professionals who can offer valuable guidance and advice. This programme not only benefits mentees in their professional growth but also provides mentors with an opportunity to enhance their mentorship skills while contributing significantly to the future of neurology.
We extend an invitation to all interested neurologists* to enroll in this programme, especially emphasising the advantages it offers to more junior doctors. These mentees have the unique opportunity to engage with experienced professionals in the neurology field and seek advice on specific projects or personal development (*future mentees must be RRFS or full members from EAN member countries or working in EAN member countries). The deadline for applications for the next matching round is 15 September 2024.
For potential mentors, this serves as a chance to further strengthen mentoring skills, making a meaningful impact on the upcoming generation of neurologists. By dedicating a few hours each month to collaborative development, these mentor-mentee pairs may lay the foundation for a lifelong connection.
We look forward to witnessing the success and growth of this new round of mentorship within the EAN community.
We encourage anyone who is interested to watch this very useful introduction on developmental mentoring and learn about the different areas of this programme.

“The mentorship programme by EAN has been paramount for my personal and professional growth. I had several meetings and video calls with my mentor. For anyone considering a mentorship programme, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The guidance and support you receive can be a game-changer in your journey. With Prof. Mark Hallett by my side, the mentorship programme took my growth to new heights.”
