On Sunday, 5 June, 15:00-16:30 there will be a joint EPA/EAN Live Session at the EPA Virtual Congress, with talks from Professor Bassetti, EAN President, and Professor Elena Moro, EAN Secretary General. The Symposium on Etiology and Treatment of the Long Covid-19 Syndrome brings together experts in the field of this syndrome. Josef Eberle (Germany) will summarise from the perspective of a virologist the course of Covid-Syndrome with a focus on the risk factors for the development of Long-Covid Syndrome. Marco Solmi (Canada) will summarise psychiatric consequences and comorbities for and in patients with Long-Covid Syndrome, while Elena Moro (France) will add neurological sequelae of Long-Covid. Claudio Bassetti (Switzerland) and Peter Falkai (Germany) will discuss the lessons learned for Mental and Brain Health in the Covid-Pandemic so far. At the end of the symposium a 20-minute Q & A session is planned to further discuss the topic with the audience.
Make sure to also participate in the ECP Debate during the EPA Congresson “Who should treat dementia and related disorders?” scheduled for Tuesday, 7 June, 10:00-11:30, during which Claudio Bassetti will also make a presentation. In addition to these programme highlights we are pleased to announce that Elena Moro will participate in the roundtable discussion on the needs in brain research during the EPA Forum on Saturday, 4 June, 09:00-12:00. As in previous years, the EPA Forum will welcome EPA members and Congress delegates together with EU-level organisations, relevant stakeholders and policy makers in the field of mental health and healthcare to present and discuss matters of European importance. This year’s EPA Forum will focus on Mental Health Care and Research in Europe: From Bench to Bedside and Back. Further details and the full programme can be found online.
