EAN is happy to announce establishment of the new type of a school!
The idea of establishing a Science School is to offer early career neurologists who are interested or already involved in translational research a possibility to understand or to learn more about basic pathomechanisms of neurological disorders and to improve/develop treatments in the future.
It is intended to highlight basic disease mechanisms, important research tools and emerging technologies which are paradigmatic in clinical neuroscience and may also inspire common research approaches between different subspecialties of neurology, as a unique feature of EAN.
The EAN Science School will thus provide a platform to 60 early career neurologists to help them pursue a dual career as an experienced clinician and a neuroscientist to promote progress in neurology.
The course will be structured in plenary sessions for all participants in the morning and accomplished by workshops in smaller groups to foster personal interactions and discussions between participants and faculty. The faculty should serve as a “role model” to promote basic research in neurological departments in Europe and lively exchange between their laboratories.
The programme of the first Science School will be scheduled for 3 consecutive days, covering topics of “Immune-mediated disorders of the nervous system; Stroke, Epilepsy and Neuronal Circuits; Neurodegeneration.
Like all EAN educational programmes and grants, this School is to support EAN individual members and RRFS members, who wish to boost their knowledge and to get the chance to enable personal contacts among participants and faculty members.
