With entering into the second year of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the European Academy of Neurology is happy to announce that two Editors for the newly developed e-Learning platform have been appointed. The EAN Board and Education Committee are very glad to have two highly experienced and outstanding Editors on board from now on and we are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation.
Prof. Barbara Tettenborn, Head of the Department of Neurology at Kantonsspital St. Gallen (KSSG)/CH has been involved in student teaching programmes at the University of Mainz/Germany for more than 35 years. Furthermore, she is contributing to the educational programme at the University Hospital in Zürich (USZ) since 1999 by giving clinical skills courses and she took part in configuring the complete educational neurology programme for the new Joint Medical Master in St.Gallen (JMM-HSG/UZH). Due to the pandemic the whole master programme had to be transferred to the virtual field within a very short time and therefore Prof. Tettenborn acquired valuable eLearning experience to share in the course of establishing the new EAN eLearning platform. Prof. Tettenborn will act as the Editor-in-Chief of the e-Learning platform.
Prof. Christian Müller is Vice-director of the Neurology Department of the Medical University of Vienna/AT and started his teaching career in 1987 with bedside teaching lectures in clinical Neurology. For more than 26 years he has been Professor at the Medical University of Vienna and contributed to changing the neurology class to a virtual setting already in 2013. Additionally, Prof. Müller played a big role when the complete presence teaching had to be replaced by eLearning in March 2020 at the University as a result of Covid-19 and therefore he has made the transition to convert a Face-to-Face Course to online lectures already twice. Prof. Müller will act as the Deputy Editor.
The European Academy of Neurology would like to warmly welcome Prof. Tettenborn and Prof. Müller to the EAN family. We are looking forward to join forces with them to develop the new EAN eLearning platform very intensively within the upcoming months and to foster eEducation in the years to come!
