Claudio Bassetti, President of the EAN and Annemarie Schumacher Dimech, President of the WBP are pleased to announce that:
EAN signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the WBP – Women’s Brain Project joining forces to promote optimal cooperation in Europe between both societies.
The Women’s Brain Project aims to stimulate a global discussion on gender and sex determinants of female vulnerability to brain and mental diseases. Its activities address the interests to advance science and education by addressing the relevance of gender issues in Neurology and mental disorders for the benefit of public health and within the concept of personalized healthcare. This collaboration aims at enhancing education and scientific endeavours. Jointly, the two organizations will be able to lobby more effectively in Brussels for the recognition of the importance of gender issues in brain diseases and for strengthening funding for research in Europe.
The two societies have agreed to collaborate on the following specific activities to deliver this goal:
Scientific Conferences: WBP is invited to submit session proposals
Endorsement of meetings: through application module
Optimizing Education: educational activities related to a common topic will be organized
The two societies’ mutual aspirations are complementary and fit well together.
