In a case series of 214 patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Mao et al., report that neurologic symptoms were seen in 36.4% of patients and were more common in patients with severe infection (45.5%) according to their respiratory status. In particular, the most common neurological manifestations reported were: dizziness, headache, taste and smell impairment, impaired consciousness and skeletal muscle injury. This paper highlights that patients with COVID-19 commonly have neurologic manifestations. Moreover, it underlines that COVID-19 should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of patients with neurologic manifestations during the COVID-19 outbreak.
