It is our pleasure to introduce the new EAN Scientific Panels’ Management groups for 2020-2022 period!
The Scientific Committee received altogether 173 applications from 36 different countries.
Comparing with the previous elections, there has been increase in both the number of applications (by 7%) and country representation (by 20%).
Top countries were Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Denmark.
EAN strives to keep gender balance, and we are happy to inform that female representation in the Panel Management groups increases slowly but steadily as well (63 female and 110 male applicants).
Every Scientific Panel Member was invited to cast their votes in a secret online poll and the final decision was made by the Scientific Committee and the Board.

EAN cooperates closely with many subspecialty societies (based on Memoranda of understanding) and therefore, partner societies will have their representatives in the relevant Scientific Panels’ Management groups as well.
The significance of the Scientific Panels and their visibility constantly increases, and this is certainly a consequence of common effort in the past years.
