Alliance for Alzheimer’s disease and other Dementias
October 4th – 5th 2019, Pavia, Italy
This first congress on Alliance for Alzheimer’s diesease and other Dementias is organised by the University of Pavia, the Institute for Advanced Study and the Mondino Foundation, which are together promoting a joint updating and training initiative that will bring together Italian and internation experts to discuss the issue of neurodegenerative diseases associated with dementia.
Dementia, in its different forms, continues to be a medical need that is still largely unmet. Its early diagnosis, genetic analysis and molecular mechanisms are complex and need to be set in a framework that brings them closer to everyday clinical situation.
To seek treatments for dementia, dialogue and stronger alliances between the research setting and the world of clinical need and healthcare need to be fostered, yet without neglecting pursuit of small advances and the kind of care that can really impact positively on the daily lives of patiens and their families.
