SP Neuroimaging met during recent EAN Congress in Amsterdam. Co-chairs Massimo Filippi from Italy and Irena Rektorova from Czech Republic reviewed Panel activities at the EAN congresses and announced proposals which have been selected for the Lisbon 2018 congress:
- Teaching Course – Neuroimaging and early detection of neurological diseases.
- Hands-on-course – HoC – Interpreting MRI in practice.
- Case-based Workshop – Imaging selection of stroke patients for specific treatment interventions.
Chairs and Panel members agreed that selection results were successful. Chairs and member of the Management group emphasized how important it is to collaborate with other Panels in order to make joined proposals or to have at least a neuroimaging talk within proposals from “clinical” Panels. The Panel is ready to prepare new proposals for Oslo 2019 according to new guidelines from EAN Programme Committee.
Massimo Filippi updated the Panel on the preparation of the “EAN-EANM Guidelines on FDG-PET clinical use in dementia”, which is a joined EAN-EANM initiative. Results have been presented at the Amsterdam meeting.
One of the most important tasks of scientific panels is educational activities. We agreed to proceed with a draft proposal for a Spring/Autumn school. Roland Wiest, member of the Management group, will take the lead in this initiative.
The Panel welcomed Celia Oreja-Guevara from Spain who has been identified by the EAN Scientific Committee as “liaison officer” with our Panel. Celia Oreja-Guevara is also a member of the SP Neuroimaging and will increase the communication between the scientific committee and the Panel.
At the end, we agreed to maintain updated Panel mailing list in order to guarantee accurate communications from Chairs and Management group and among members.
If anyone is interested to participate, please send an email to Massimo Filippi (filippi.massimo@hsr.it) and Irena Rektorova (irena.rektorova@fnusa.cz).
