The 2nd Congress of the EAN had its’ official opening on Saturday, May 28th, the first congress day.
Professor Mads Ravnborg, chair of the local organising committee and President of the Danish Neurological Society, welcomed all guest to Copenhagen and reported shortly on the history of Danish neurology.
Professor Guenther Deuschl, President of the EAN, thanked Prof. Ravnborg for the hospitality and introduced the participants to the EAN achievements in 2014 – 2016.
Professor Paul Boon, chair of the EAN Programme Committee, introduced Morten Kringelbach, guest speaker of the EAN opening.
Professor Morten Kringelbach, director of Hedonia: Trygfonden Research Group, a unique transnational collaboration between Oxford, UK and Aaarhus, Norway universities. He fascinated the audience with his research on the impact of pleasure, emotions and activities on the brain.
Finally, the guests were treated to a live performance of the world renowned Royal Danish Ballet. Scenes from Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky were performed by two of its star dancers.
The official programme was followed by a reception where the guest had the opportunity to mingle, enjoy good food, drinks and live music. The perfect social event to meet each other and start the 2nd congress of the EAN.
